Canada’s Premier Select Ranch Horse Competition

A new Champion was crowned at Canada’s Premier Select Ranch Horse Competition during Canadian Western Agribition.  Major Pep Sugar owned by Frehlick Quarter Horses, Estevan, SK.  and ridden by Rod Thiessen won the 2010 competition with a solid performance earning 673 out of a possible 800 points.  The winner took home the $5000 first prize as well as a Blanket presented by Merial Canada Inc. & Ford Motor Company of Canada.

 

There was a tie for second place between Clint Christianson ridding GMR Good Looker owned by Don Biette, Estevan, SK and Lil War Bonnet owned by Wanda Comack, Picardville, AB and shown by Dale Clearwater. 

 

In the fourth and final placing was Travlin San also shown by Dale Clearwater and owned by Dave Freeland, Edmonton, AB.

 

Following the competition the 12 horses were offered for sale and averaged $7450.  The Champion, Major Pep Sugar brought the top price of $10,000 and sold to Ken Woods, Moosomin, SK.  Equaling that mark was Lil War Bonnet purchased by Marcy Orwig, Ellendale, ND, USA.
